CAMERAS & ARCHITECTURE

Your cameras.
A new perspective.

Build with BlackSight cameras, connect compatible IP cameras you already own, or use both. Our planned platform brings them together.

THE BLACKSIGHT CAMERA RANGE

A considered choice.
From the first frame.

We're selecting professional PoE IP cameras around image quality, low-light performance, reliability, and documented interfaces.

  • Professional optics and dependable video
  • Standard streams for BlackSight recording and AI
  • A range built for dealer-led installations

NDAA is our minimum hardware requirement, with TAA options planned. Ask us about model-specific origin and compliance documentation for your project's procurement requirements.

BRING YOUR EXISTING CAMERAS

Keep your investment.
Add more intelligence.

Start with the cameras that already work for your site. We're building around standard IP video interfaces so upgrades can happen on your terms.

  • RTSP video and ONVIF integration
  • H.264 / H.265 stream support
  • Shared management across compatible brands

Compatibility will be confirmed by camera model, firmware, and stream configuration. Our validated device list will be published as testing progresses.

DESIGNED TO WORK LOCALLY

Intelligence at the edge.
Room to grow.

Separate camera choice, processing, and recording capacity. Expand the parts your site needs as it grows.

01

Connect cameras

Bring supported camera streams onto your local network.

02

Process on site

Local appliances handle video and planned AI workflows.

03

Choose your retention

Separate recording storage grows with your needs.

Architecture in development. Supported camera counts, retention options, and offline capabilities depend on the tested configuration. Optional hosted services are part of the roadmap.

COMPATIBILITY IS MORE THAN A CONNECTOR

Check the model.
Then test the whole view.

These are the inputs to our planned compatibility program. They are not a claim that every camera with RTSP or ONVIF is already supported.

What to discuss with your installer
CheckWhat matters Why it matters
Model & firmware Exact model, firmware version and documented interfaces. A supported brand name alone does not establish compatibility.
Local streams Accessible RTSP streams and applicable ONVIF functions. The appliance needs a tested way to connect, view and record.
Video configuration Codec, resolution, bitrate, frame rate and simultaneous streams. Recording quality and AI workload may need different stream settings.
Image & placement Lens, lighting, mounting angle and visibility of the intended activity. Useful detections depend on what is actually visible in the image.
Network & access Power, network reachability, unique credentials and consistent time. A reliable connection and aligned recordings make the system usable.

CHOOSING YOUR CAMERA PATH

A useful upgrade.
On your terms.

Can BlackSight and other IP cameras be mixed?

That is the intended approach. Each model and firmware combination will need validation, including the functions you want to use. There is not yet a published compatibility list.

Do we need the camera manufacturer’s AI?

No. The baseline performs analysis on an on-site computer. We prioritize the quality and reliability of the video rather than requiring built-in camera analytics.

What are your NDAA and TAA requirements?

NDAA compliance is the minimum sourcing requirement for hardware we supply; TAA-compliant options are planned for projects that need them. Each model and branded configuration needs verified documentation before release. Existing third-party cameras must be assessed separately, and badges do not establish compliance of an entire installation.

Can we keep an existing recorder?

That needs testing for the specific installation. A camera may support more than one authorized stream connection, but connection limits, bandwidth and recorder behavior vary. We do not assume an existing recorder can run BlackSight software.

How much storage will we need?

Retention depends on actual bitrate, camera count, recording schedule and the number of days required. The planned system separates recording storage from AI compute so your dealer can size each around the installation.
